Hailing from the East Coast, Katie understands the tremendous pressure and rigorous demands that young adults face today in the world of higher education. In her position at College Excel, she strives to provide students with the assistance and encouragement they need to develop effective study habits, while allowing them the space to take initiative and complete their own work.
Katie's broad range of experience in leadership of young adults includes tutoring math, science, and writing at the high school and college levels, mentoring teenage "leaders in training" and interns for the Audubon Society and the National Park Service, and facilitating an honors course in Holistic Goal Development & Sustainable Living as a TA for the University of Massachusetts.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she made the Dean's List repeatedly and graduated Cum Laude. She has lived in Bend for over 3 years and spends her free time leading educational programs at a local nature center, rock climbing, and playing the saxophone.
